luca: hello he thomas .
thomas: hello luke he is .
luca: .. and we call sound of cigarette .
where did this name?
Luke: Well, the cigarette is the main element in the film, but its sound is very neglected.
thomas: just want to pay tribute to something small and neglected (laugh, ed.)
in your work is ever-present cigarette?
luca: yes, we are very keen indeed. I think of Humphrey Bogart and my grandmother, who smokes as if it were the most important ritual the day. she's films.
thomas: the cigarette in the frame, you change everything. the smoke movement in the static.
luca: It is poetic in the movies.
you feel part of the Italian film industry?
thomas: well, are different circuits, do not know. are two sides of the same river, and one where we turn the money.
luca: yes, we say .. we like to contribute more in the muddy shore, however. We are anarchists.
thomas: then a lot has changed in recent years ...
what has changed?
thomas: the main roles are no longer defined as in the golden age of Italian cinema, for example. the figure of the director is collapsing. let alone aid director. rightly understood and totally useless today.
luca: they mix up the cards on the table, we had seen good coppola in 1979 when he spoke of the effects of the digital revolutionaries. Now a film with little money you do if you're good ... that's why we do not care funds to anyone. them would not be sound of cigarette.
you defined so independent?
thomas: well, is a term which has been so abused. I do not know what that means.
luca: to the extent that we have the pieces in the ass, yes, indeed.
thomas: I admire the Manetti bros, they know what it means to be free.
your influences?
thomas: To what I am concerned, now the East is the most interesting. Johnnie then. then ok, von trier, Kurosawa and Paul McGuigan.
luca: more or less all the kids of our generation are the children of Quentin Tarantino. however I've seen and I see mainly Lynch and Herzog. both found comfort in the old Italian film, who does not like?
and yet who appreciate the Italian scene of today?
luke: how actors Battiston, and Servillo, Fabrizio Bentivoglio. I like and also Scamarcio Valentina Lodovini.
thomas: Pupi Avati on all but tinto brass and Sorrento.
projects in the pipeline?
thomas: we have a dozen scripts already written. are there gathering dust and waiting.
luca: years of night thoughts in this intricate and McDonald, who is our office.
as soon as we turn Kier 02 (episodic, ed), then Brothers, a polizesco. Finally skin rashes, which means rashes. we turn to the people to whom we are romantically linked, friends. but does not mean that we will sex (the verses are strange, ed.)
