Here they built a temple dedicated to sacred S. Bartholomew the Apostle, with a church and bell tower. 2. THE GREEK ORTHODOX RITE
The church of S. Bartholomew of the Greek certified in sec. XIV, by his own clergy of the Latin rite, the rite has enjoyed ab antique greek-orthodox, handed down to us by our fathers certainly before the arrival of the Albanians. Already in sec. VI, was subject to the authority of the Archbishop of Constantinople that sent the Pope for the church service, at least until it was attached to the church from Benevento sec. VII.
The Provincial Synod of 1547 held by Cardinal Giacomo Savelli, Archbishop of Benevento documents the presence of the same rite greek orthodox diocese, specifically in Greek and Casalnuovo Monterotaro (Cb). Reports from the sacred
Limini of the bishops of Benevento is found that in 1593 ... "In the diocese, there are two churches in which they live greek rite priests natives Greeks, the archbishop claims to cure the reduction to the Latin rite, although especially oppose women '. More precisely, instead of 1676 is' \u200b\u200bwhere' Archbishop Giuseppe de Bologna writes to S. At
"There are two Albanian lands that preserve the ancient rite of the Greeks (Byzantine Orthodox) (includes Casalnuovo Monterotaro (Fg) and Greeks) that constantly to keep the Latin rite, former Archbishop Giacopo Savelli, the which was anxious to erase the memory of the patriarch of Constantinople superstitious and schismatics some errors, especially women continue to observe the ancient greek ritual and the practice of imposing its name to the baptismal font and all talk to each other with the language of the Greeks " .
After several years with the coming of the new Archbishop Orsini, disappears in rite greek Orthodox Greeks, probably due to the lack of rotation of the Orthodox Pope, following an earthquake, even the ancient church of S. Apostle Bartholomew was declared unfit and rebuilt in new site Benaducci Largo.
remained in the historical memory the chapel of St. Nicola di Bari, once located along the Via-Faeto Greeks, of undoubted testimony of the greek-orthodox rite, such as crabs Greek Abbey of Grottaferrata, which link the domains of the same. At the family's Stiscia Montecalvo, is kept a Byzantine icon of St. Nicola di Bari, couplets with the Greeks, once part of the chapel, and then placed in the private chapel of the family of Lusi Greeks.
the ancient rites are only modest signs of what the popular rites of Kuroro Wen, and song of the Kalimera.
