Nantucket

A place in the mind for a double solo exhibition spaces

Study of Guenther of Milan (Via Melzo 5), will house up to 31 January 2009, the double personal Sabina Grasso and Matteo Rubbi , we invite you to delve into the mystery with them to Nantucket metaphor inconsistent and surreal, but by the strong dream, an ideal place where the two artists have chosen to place their works.

symbol of absurdity and contradiction, Nantucket is in the eyes of Melville, and the whalers by the extremely Moby Dick, as an endless beach and no background, pure sand, surrounded by nothing, where every event happens depends solely on the magnetic and ruthless influence of the sea.

using different techniques, the two artists create and interpret the concept of detachment and withdrawal, the feelings to isolate them play in ways sometimes just barely perceptible, and their work will stop at the suggestion of state before becoming a concrete form, providing the ' impression of floating in the sea of \u200b\u200bethereal and insubstantial Nantucket.

In this exhibition, each work has its own unique range and at the same time it binds to the other, creating a strong emotional tension and amplifying the impression of the distance.

So Dojo recounts a conversation as if it were a monologue film, where the protagonist is watching us, blatant and prying is a tragic farce about the play that represents an ideal world, but isolated, where the protagonists seem inconclusive and misunderstood, in Sassi the artist portrays herself, in a sequence where the camera body and thoughts appear frozen and still waiting.

A journey in the imagination, perhaps, but above all an invitation to discover what they thought and memory are able to build.

The exhibition, with free admission, continued until January 31, 2009.
