2009 Italy Jewish Guide
( Meyer Piha Publisher)
Deeper in the intricate ways of the books, it is not uncommon to meet people and discover surprising, sometimes, those places that left their mark on history. Beyond the travel literature, where an expert reader knows where to find your way in search, there are areas seemingly more "tourist" but that, as careful observers, will reveal new and fascinating theme trails.
Now, I do not know the intentions of Meyer Piha, a small publisher of Milan is not new to large enterprises, and I can not say if his Italy Jewish Guide, now available in 2009, is intended more to a Jewish audience that wish to be informed wherever they are, or of different origin but motivated to learn a large and important part of Italian culture and history.
But any distinction would be unnecessary, since this gives to anyone who is moved by curiosity and respect among the Italian regions, all information, directions, routes and addresses in order to know the 'Jewish' in its evocative beauty and believe me, you'll be amazed at how much you do not know Italy. City as Rome, Florence, Trieste, Venice, Mantua or Casale Monferrato will appear throughout the splendor that the Jewish presence has resulted in their walls, and you can take along a magnificent artistic and cultural, through the streets, palaces, ancient ghettos, synagogues, museums, shops of yesterday and today, art galleries, bookstores, cafes and restaurants but also where, between history and tradition, kosher kitchen has met with regional Italian cuisine.
Edit text in both Italian and English and also available in CD-ROM, the guide contains all the information about the Italian Jewish communities, places of religious worship CHARACTERISTICS, institutions and cultural centers. It 'available in some libraries, but you can buy it directly from the web at http://www.italyjewishguide.it/buy_it.html or by contacting the publisher at hbd@katamail.com
